Guidance for All Decisions

Guidance for All Decisions

The story below comes from Joyce T. and is a testimony of the guidance and providence of God even in the seemingly small decisions in life.

In December 2016, I began praying about a personal Bible Study for 2017. Nothing seemed to be popping up. I reviewed several Bible studies on Lifeway.com and still wasn’t sure which one I should choose.

One of my favorite writers is Oswald Chambers. I have a devotional book by him called My Utmost For His Highest. It speaks to my heart and is always relevant.

January was fast approaching and I continued to pray and research. One day I was at the Christian bookstore, walking down the center aisle, continuing to look for the right Bible study.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw a book, If You Will Ask, by Oswald Chambers. You guessed it; I picked it up. The book contains reflections on the power of prayer.  As I begin to glance through the book, several chapter titles got my attention.

I purchased the book and was eager to read it. At that moment I did not think of it being a Bible study but it is exactly what my heart needs. As I look back, I see God’s hand in the entire process. It is so good and I am learning that prayer  is more than getting things from God, but a way of getting to know God himself.

This is so funny. Our BIBLE Study stopped 7 weeks early this time. The study that I was to be in did not happen so. I began to see where I was to go. Then found a study to work on. BUT not the same. Now I got this from you guys. Love the way GOD puts things together . Don’t know if you have seen or heard of the movie ” The Shack ” Husband, grandson , and I went to see it. What I got from the movie was. God is always there and what I need him to be to help me grow in a relationship with Him. I did not watch the movie thinking it was a bible or nothing, just what was I to learn from it and relax knowing God the one and only better when I walked away. For me it worked. Thank you guys so much for all the work ( no LOVE ) you give freely to all.
